Hill Country Inn & Suites

I love when an cheap motel is a surprise but in a good way. We only needed a night, (attending a concert at Gruene Hall) and most hotels/motels were booked or ridiculously high. When we pulled in, to be honest, I was immediately worried it was going to be a bad experience and we may end up sleeping in the car (been there, done that since we travel a lot).. It's definitely an old extended stay motel on the outside, and a little rough around the edges..I was actually very surprised it was nice inside both the lobby and rooms. Staff was very friendly and pleasant. The rooms have had a lot of cosmetic upgrades, bedding, wall decor, etc. They were clean, towels were rough but clean and bleached. (No stains). The carpet is worn but not terrible. They look exactly like the pictures. The shower was tricky to figure out as you have to pull down from the underside of the spout. The water is really hot, and had great pressure. The beds are nice and comfy..Not too soft but not firm, and pillows are nice too. There was no microwave, but after checking it isn't listed in the description for this style room, so double check if you need one, looks like mostly the "suites". Yes it's older, but if you travel, you know what the expectations are for the price and this far exceeded them. Also it is not to be confused with the Country Inn and Suites by Radisson on the other side of the highway. I would definitely stay again over paying much more for something else.

Lowest rates in area, very nice floors relatively quiet, comfortable, can be a bit humid if ac, has been off for sometime. Staff are great.

I got a great rate. When I was late checking in the night clerk called to check on me. Both staff I dealt were friendly and accommodating. The room was clean, and stocked. Even the bed was more comfy than I thought it would be. I would stay here again without a doubt

Nothing was BAD however as a father with small children when I get back to a hotel after a day of events and trying to settle the kids we enjoy watching tv during bedtime. However, the TV had no signal for the entire weekend. We complained and complained and tried both nights and no luck. They were friendly and apologetic but there was no solution and no refund or complimentary anything. I understand to some this sounds small and petty or might not be a deal at all for some, but for me and my family we were very disappointed as we paid for a room with TV and got a room with no TV. I did explain this and offer ample opportunity for them to make it right and they just said it was the cable company and not them. I get that and understand but I paid them not the cable company and didn’t pick the cable company that didn’t work.

We've been coming to this hotel since it was a Super 8 last year. I got a room here for a family member who was waiting on his house to be fixed up off and on for over 3 months. Dina is who I usually deal with at the front desk and she has consistently been a sweetheart and sometimes goes out of her way to make things good for us. She brings the papers outside when my knee is hurting so I don't have to come inside to sign. She also volunteered to move her car to the street when there were no other parking spots. She's always been friendly and professional. The other front desk ladies and Bobby the manager are sweet too. One of the days we had to cancel last minute due to a family emergency in another city but they allowed cancellation with no charge even though they could've charged us due to policy. My family member is in his house now, but I recently got a room for my elderly parents to stay in. I saw they re-did the lobby and had new beds brought in and it looks great. We highly and happily recommend them!

It's ok. The rooms do not have comforters on the beds just fyi. But it was clean and nice enough. Our TV remote didn't work nor did our landline phone. There were 2 work trucks in handicap parking with no sign of a sticker or license plate. I reported that to the office but I'm not sure she understood me. I suspect they are workers staying here, the drivers of the trucks. But they are very rude. Hotel is in a major street so it was loud, we heard car radios, loud car motors, and sirens up until about 11 pm

We made an emergency reservation here after the hotel room we had originally booked turned out to be infested with roaches. The highlight of this hotel, at least for us, was the super comfortable beds and pillows. We would love to know the brand and firmness of the mattresses, as they were perfect not just for me but for my wife and sister in law as well. We can't say much about the other aspects of the hotel, but we had a great night of sleep.
